Barry “The Godfather” Taylor is one of South Africa’s most famous South African showjumping competitors. Not only is he an exceptional talent in the saddle despite his unique style, but Barry is also the go-to coach for many of the top 1.50m showjumpers across the county including the Neills: Cathryn, Shaun, Gareth, and Lara and the Triggols: Govett, Aisling, Thomas, and Cayleigh. His showjumping achievements far outnumber every active showjumper today with victories dating back over 30 years. Barry is also the owner of Farnham stables in Chartwell and, alongside wife, Lorette Knowles-Taylor, Barry runs a formidable setup of up and coming young horses, dealing horses, pupils, and his string of horses.
