The Next Generation of Showjumpers: Sarah Neill

The final weekend of January saw riders compete at several different venues across Gauteng, including Burlington Stables and Kyalami Equestrian Park. Despite the rain and rather unpleasant weather, riders across Gauteng were eager to kick off their holiday laze and get their rounds completed including 4-year-old Sarah Neill, daughter of 1.50m showjumping couple, Shaun and Cathryn Neill

Sarah marks the 3rd generation of Neills to enter the competition arena and at just 4-years-old, whatever she decided to do going forward, equestrian will always be a part of the life she leads. With both her parents at the top levels of showjumping and her uncle and aunt, Gareth and Lara Neill also at the highest levels, the showjumping influence is strong and will provide Sarah to greatest opportunities for an equestrian career.  Her first show at Kyalami Equestrian Park, this past weekend, was a remarkable occasion for the family as Sarah rode a beautiful round on Twinkles with dad, Shaun, by her side leading the pony.

Sarah, Twinkles and Shaun also created a perfect visual with all 3 kitted out in Equestrian Affair products. A top equestrian brand that has seen partnerships with Lorette Knowles-Taylor and Chatan Hendricks has now also become a go-to product for the next generation of showjumping talents. While Sarah Neill is still very young, her eagerness, natural position, and love for her pony are great markers for a future in the equestrian industry and we wish her the absolute best on her adventure with Twinkles.
