After their journey from Africa to Europe, the talented young Laurence Mowatt and Evergreen M have started their conquest on the European show circuit on Irish soil. After just more than a year since their last Grand Prix competition in South Africa, Evergreen M, aka Yummy, re-entered the ring this past weekend. In the year since his last show, he embarked on a journey to Ireland where he and Laurence have been preparing to take on Europe. But despite the layoff, Evergreen M looked as fit as ever in his first show back.
The Cavan Winter/Spring Horse League competition saw Laurence and Yummy compete in the 1.30m competition at the Cavan Equestrian Centre with tracks designed by FEI 2* Stuart Clarke. Providing a double clear in a time of 51.31 seconds, their debut Irish competition was a wonderful success. Yummy skipped over the 1.30m track with ease, which should come as no surprise since he was a regular high-flyer in local 1.50m competitions. But the event this past weekend served as a great warm-up for the show season to come. Check out their competition video below:
