Oliver Bishop, based in KwaZulu-Natal, is a highly successful South African young rider at just 22 years old. Having won numerous U25 titles alongside the Burlington Cup in 2017 on his long time partner, Belvedere, Oliver has made a name for himself as one of the best young riders in South Africa.
Belvedere, formerly known as Bommetjie, by Vancouver out of a Picasso de Lauzelle mare, has been a fantastic partner to Oliver Bishop as the pair claimed victory at the U25 Neal Fearon series in 2019 after consistent performances throughout the year that qualified them highly for the final. The pairing also had a wonderful 1.50m campaign together at multiple Grand Prix and title classes until recently where Oliver made the decision to sell Belvedere to enable another up and coming young rider, Gemma Nel, to enjoy the qualities and abilities that Belvedere possesses.
Gemma Nel has been an active show jumper in the 1.20cm/1.30m with her gorgeous grey stallion, JK Sporthorses C Star under the guidance of her coach, Jonathan Clarke. After a brief hiatus from competition due to her studies, Gemma has marked her return with this spectacular addition to her string.
